Myopia Management
ESSILOR® Stellest™ lenses slow down the progression of myopia by an average of 67%.
Slows the progression of myopia
We all want the best for our children. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to identify everything, control everything and know everything. Myopia can seriously and permanently affect children’s vision and their lives. Today, with Stellest™ lenses, it is possible to slow down the progression of myopia.
This is an important and crucial choice for our children because the earlier myopia is detected and its progression controlled, the less impact it will have in the future.
Myopia correction

Control of myopia progression
They slow down the progression of myopia

standard single-vision lenses, when
used 12 hours a day.
No compromise
Stellest™ lenses are aesthetic, safe and simple.
Vision is crucial for children
To play, learn, read, discover and see the world…
We believe that vision is at the center of our lives. And we believe that children’s vision is at the heart of their individual development.
Did you know that more than 80% of children’s learning takes place through vision? Good vision is essential for learning, but also for feeling comfortable with others, for succeeding at school, for spending time with family and friends. With STELLEST™ Lenses, it’s children who grow, not myopia.

Analysis of the increase in myopia cases
Nowadays, children’s daily lives are more sedentary and there is an increase in the use of near vision, especially due to the time they spend on close tasks instead of playing outside (where they use their far vision). As a result, they are likely to develop myopia at an earlier age. Myopia currently represents a global health crisis, with 5 billion people, and half the world’s population, likely to be myopic by 2050. More and more children are becoming myopes at an earlier age, which increases the probability of high myopia that can lead to pathological conditions and vision loss.
Correcting myopia isn't enough, it's time to control it
Did you know that myopia occurs when children’s eyes grow larger than they should? When this problem occurs, we are dealing with myopia progression. Nowadays, most of myopes children use standard ophthalmic lenses.
These lenses correct myopia and allow children to see clearly. However, myopia continues to progress. This means that as the child grows, the myopia can progress, requiring higher prescriptions. The higher the prescription it is, greater the dependence on glasses. This also involves an increased risk of reaching high myopia and developing eye complications. Children who use ophthalmic lenses that correct the vision, will see clearly, but can develop high myopia.
Your child is unique, our technology is too
High myopia is currently a serious concern that affects children’s daily lives and development.
We believe that children’s vision is crucial. That’s why Essilor, with decades of experience in the field of myopia management, has developed the latest innovative technology to slow down the progression of myopia.
Myopia correction with clear vision
The Monofocal Vision Zone, with the child’s prescription, allows clear vision by perfectly focusing the light on the retina. The design of the lenses ensures a wide zone with the requested prescription. This provides comfort and clear vision.
Myopia management through a signal to counteract eyeball elongation
This lens is made up of an innovative constellation of 1021 invisible microlenses. In addition to providing clear vision like a standard single vision lens, this constellation creates a signal volume inside the child’s eye that acts as a shield against the eye stretching. Thanks to H.A.L.T.* technology, Essilor® Stellest™ lenses slow down the progression of myopia by an average of 67%*, compared to standard single vision lenses, when used 12 hours a day or more.
* Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target
A complete and advanced two-year clinical trial has shown strong evidence of the effectiveness of STELLEST™ Lenses.
Essilor® Stellest™ lenses slow down the progression of myopia by an average of 67%, compared to standard single vision lenses, when used 12 hours a day or more.
In this clinical trial, it was demonstrated that after the first year, the ocular growth of 9 out of 10 children who wore Stellest™ lenses was like or slower than that of non-myopic children. In addition, 2 out of 3 children who use Stellest™ lenses stabilized their need for vision correction after the first year.
