Get to know OPTIC One
In 1972, the group’s first store opened at no. 1 Praça Marquês de Pombal in Lisboa. A space specializing in visual health that introduced in Portugal, such as contact lenses and ocular prostheses. At the time there was nothing in the sector as advanced as what we were offering and this attracted the attention of various personalities, including presidents of the republic, prime ministers and different public figures of the time.
At the same time, Fátima and Vitor Castanheira (the group’s current directors) had also entered the sector in 1982, having helped to develop several companies in the center of the country, such as Óptica Médica das Beiras, Eyelux or Óptica Rainha, and along the way they always kept their focus on the highest quality of product and service.
It was in 2004 that the merger between the companies took place, which made the original name of Centro Óptico Delgado Espinosa disappear but brought with it a new energy with the synergies that involved all the companies in the new group.
For several years they tried to develop a differentiating activity, but it was in January 2022 that
they moved on to a new stage, creating a new “face”, a new commercial brand, OPTIC One, which within the same image, brings together their current optical companies.

At this point, with new management leadership, the evolution towards a concept even more focused on investment in innovation was generated, supported by advanced training for its teams and highest technology at world level, seeking to be the benchmark for specialized optical services in Portugal.
Over 50 years of history is a very important asset in our culture and in our day-to-day life, but it is always with a view to the future that we base our strategy and our vision.
